1. In the first couple ofsentences, Lakshimi talks about how her family does not have a lot of money and wants to go work in the city.
2. Lakshimi wants to go work in the city because her friend Gita went to the city to work.
3. The protaganist, Lakshimi doesv not really have friends since Gita left, so she talks to her goat while she does her chores and tries to teach her the things she knows.
4. Ama is Lakshimi's mother and she has a husband that controls everything. He sometimes goes and plays cards all night, and he spends the money.
5. When Lakshimi becomes a women her mother, Ama has to teach her the things that she needs to know.
